How can I know that DNS propogation is complete?

I think it's in the quick-start guide that says that DNS propogation can take as many as 5 days and that access may be spotty during that time.

I've transferred a site and uploaded the files via the temporary URLs. (Aside: I couldn't figure out how to access ftp server for temporary URLs, so had to upload everything with the file manager. Fortunately, it's a very small site with not too many subdirectories, so didn't take much time.)

The reason I moved to WireNine is because my old host did not support Fantastico and specifically Drupal. I was able to install Drupal but can't start customizing it because all the Drupal pages point to my domain name not the temporary URLs.

So, how can I know that DNS propogation is complete so that I can start using Drupal to build my new site?

The dns propogation should not take longer then 72 hours. If it does, there is something wrong.

You can find out if your domain is pointing to our servers by pinging your domain name, it should give you a result with one our IP addresses. If it has been longer then 72 hours, your domain name should be pointing to our servers.

You can also try uploading a file on your new account which does not exist on your old account, try to see if it loads for you and if it does that means your domain is ready on the new account with us.

Thanks. This works great. I used a nice set of web-based network tools at http://www.nwtools.com/ since my office seems to be blocking ping messages (along with the WireNine cpanel).
