Default Adding a domain name to a subdirectory

My friend and I are sharing one hosting account. He uses his own subdomain. Today he plans to buy a separate domain name for his. I read the FAQ about adding a domain pointer but there are some things I'm not sure.

Do I require to purchase an additional service or something from wire9 to activate the domain pointing or don't I have to? The hosting plan I bought is nowhere listed in the wire9 website so I don't know if it has that feature.

Also, later on I plan to buy another domain name which will point to the same location as the currect one. eg http://apple.com/ = http://orange.com/ Is this the same as adding domain pointer?

You are on the Starter plan which does not allow you to add any add-on domains. You would have to upgrade your plan in order to add an add-on domain.

That would be domain parking, not add-on domains. DomainB would be parked on top of DomainA, and display the same contents as DomainA.

Can I purchase just the addon domain service without upgrading my plan? Because it still has a few months and I rather not upgrade until it's near expire.

You can upgrade at any time, there is no fee to upgrade. You would only pay the difference between the cost of your hosting plan.

The url to the upgrade form is
https://www.wirenine.com/forms/change_plan.html

If you would rather add an add-on domain instead, the cost is $2.00 monthly / per domain.
